black walnut - juglans nigra

Kathleen Morris

black walnut - juglans nigra is a hemp textile, woven with an ondulé reed. The textile pays homage to the long-prized beauty of its source —one that has supported human species for millennia. Tapping into the hidden potential of plants connects humans to their history, linking present-day practice to a multi-generational lineage of ecological knowledge. It also exposes the latent magic of the urban landscape in which we live, and recognizes our affinity with the enduring ecosystem found within it.
